Teen accused of street gang activity facing additional charges

More charges for a purported member of the Brothers 4 Life criminal street gang.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

17-year-old Gregory Geemar Charles North Jr. of Rome was in possession of two firearms that were reported stolen from vehicles back on March 5.

North, who has been in jail since April 22, is additionally charged with multiple counts of participation in criminal street gang activity, two counts of theft by receiving stolen, and possession of a firearm by a person under the age of 18.

Man charged with cocaine possession

A North Rome man has been arrested on felony warrants charging him with possession of cocaine and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

According to the warrant:

45-year-old Rory Lushon Chatman was found with one gram of cocaine and a pistol during the execution of a search warrant at a home on Gordon Avenue back on January 9.

Warrants: Man plotted to smuggle marijuana into prison

A Newnan man is accused of conspiring to smuggle contraband into the Floyd County Prison.

According to the arrest warrant:

37-year-old Eldrin Jejuan Hand, while an inmate at the prison, hatched a plan with another inmate and a third person to leave two packages of marijuana, weighing over 30 grams, at a work detail at Rome City Public Works.

Hand and the other inmate are seen during a video visit at the prison giving directions to the other person on May 7, 2023.

The contraband was found underneath a rock at the public works site 12 days later.

Hand is charged with conspiracy to commit a felony, possession of items prohibited for inmates, use of a communications facility to commit a crime, and possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute.

Report: Man had stolen utility trailer

A 55-year-old Rome man was arrested on Pennington Avenue at West Forrest Street Tuesday on a felony count of theft by receiving stolen property.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Stanley Denard Davis was in possession of a stolen utility trailer.
