Warrants: Garden Lakes man molested, bit minor

A 27-year-old Rome man has been arrested on felony warrants charging him with aggravated child molestation, and sexual battery against someone under the age of 16.

According to the warrants:

Josh Colton Acrey molested a child between May 1 and May 31 of last year.

In one instance, Acrey bit the victim.

The incidents occurred at Acrey’s residence on Gray Rock Drive, according to the warrants. 

Man accused of possessing over 11 pounds of marijuana, steroids, and guns

A Rome man was recently jailed on marijuana trafficking charges.

According to an arrest warrant and Floyd County Jail records:

50-year-old Michael Shane Chastain was found with over eleven pounds of marijuana, several firearms, steroids, and digital scales during the execution of a search warrant at his Atkins Drive home on March 26.

He is also charged with conspiracy to commit a crime, felony possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of a Schedule III controlled substance, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

30-year-old Amy Louise Bishop, who was previously arrested, is accused of conspiring with Chastain over the telephone to distribute drugs.

She has additionally been charged with conspiracy to commit a felony. 

Man arrested on drug charges during traffic stop

A 58-year-old Rome Man was arrested on multiple charges during a traffic stop at Turner McCall Boulevard and West First Street.

According to Floyd County Jail records: 

David Eugene Fain had methamphetamine, cocaine, and less than an ounce of marijuana in his vehicle, along with plastic baggies.

He is charged with possession of meth, possession of meth with the intent to distribute, possession of cocaine, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, DUI, operating an unsafe vehicle, and driving with a suspended or revoked license.

Fain is also charged with misdemeanor obstruction for allegedly resisting arrest.

Man accused of conspiring to sell meth

A West Rome man has been arrested on charges of conspiracy to violate Georgia’s Controlled Substances Act and use of a communications facility to commit a felony.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

39-year-old Nico Minardos London conspired over a cell phone with another person to traffic methamphetamine in October of 2022.

London is also charged with four counts of contempt of superior court, two felony counts of failure to appear, and a felony probation violation.

Report: Man arrested after making threat

A 68-year-old East Rome man was recently arrested on a felony count of terroristic threats and acts.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Willie Franklin Kent threatened to beat a woman to death with a rock in a sock.

The incident occurred Thursday evening at Kent’s residence on Dean Avenue.

Teen accused of causing student to fall down stairs at Coosa High

A teenager was arrested following an incident at Coosa High School on Thursday.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

17-year-old Stephen Tyler Aycock of Cave Spring kicked another 17-year-old in the back, causing the victim to fall down a flight of stairs in the lunchroom. 

Aycock is charged with misdemeanor counts of simple battery, reckless conduct, and disruption of a public school.
