Update:

A Gordon County woman was transported to Atrium Health Floyd Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries following a two-vehicle wreck in front of Red Lobster in West Rome Wednesday.

According to a Rome Police Department report:

A 2008 Toyota Corolla Matrix driven by 43-year-old Rebekah H. Thorssen-Jeronomo of Calhoun struck a 2017 Ford Fusion that was turning right onto Shorter from North Hanks Street.

The impact caused the Toyota to overturn, and come to rest on its top.

A witness told police there was a semi-truck that had stopped, waiting for him and the Fusion to turn onto Shorter from North Hanks, and the Corolla changed lanes from the inside to the outside lane, striking the Ford.

Thorsen-Jeronimo was shaken up following the crash and stated she was not sure how the accident occurred but stated she believed she was in the outside lane.

The driver of the Corolla, 38-year-old Sasha L. Baty of Cedar Bluff Alabama, was cited for failure to yield the right of way.
