More than 20 DUI arrests made on St. Patrick’s Day

-Floyd County Jail records-

Georgia State Troopers arrested more than 20 people on St. Patrick’s Day during road checks on Second Avenue at Third Street and Riverside Parkway.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Most of the arrests were for DUI.

However, a couple of those arrested also face more serious charges.

33-year-old Kristin Leya McMichen of Calhoun allegedly fought with officers and kicked a state trooper.

In addition to DUI, she is charged with felony obstruction, open container, driving without a license in her possession, and distracted driving.

The report states that she was on her phone as she pulled up to the road check.

Meanwhile, 42-year-old Nathaniel Corey McCollum of Rome was charged with terroristic threats and acts, as well as DUI, after allegedly stating that bad things would happen to a state trooper’s life if he did not find his wife.
