Two charged with child cruelty

Two Kingston women were arrested late last week at their Mulligan Court residence on charges of 1st-degree cruelty to children and five counts of misdemeanor cruelty to animals.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

40-year old Skyline Vincetta Morales and 38-year-old Sha’ Brianne Renfro deprived a child of necessary sustenance to the extent that the child’s health or well-being was jeopardized.

There were also five dogs living inside the residence without proper sanitation or ventilation.

Report: Man stole $35,000 tractor

A Cave Spring man is accused of stealing a tractor.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

43-year-old Cory Don Shaw took the tractor, valued at $35,000 from a yard on Blacks Bluff Road on Friday.

Shaw is charged with a felony count of theft by taking.

Man accused of making threat

A 25-year-old Coosa man was arrested late last week after he allegedly threatened to shoot three people at a convenience store on Turner McCall Boulevard.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Caleb Lane Brock moved his hand as if he were reaching for a gun and then raised his fist as if he were going to hit one of the victims in the face.

He also entered the front passenger door of the victim’s truck.

Brock is charged with terroristic threats and acts, simple assault, and criminal trespass.

Man charged with false imprisonment, simple battery

A Rome man has been arrested on a felony warrant charging him with false imprisonment.

According to the warrant:

39-year-old Jonathan Lovell Brown stood behind a woman’s vehicle to prevent her from leaving a residence on Callier Springs Road.

The woman was trying to leave in order to obtain a temporary protective order against Brown, the warrant stated.

Brown is also charged with criminal trespass for shattering a window of the victim’s residence.

Report: Man swallowed drugs during traffic stop

A 41-year-old Rome man is accused of swallowing drugs during a traffic stop on Couper Street back on January 23.

According to an arrest warrant and Floyd County Jail records:

Cedric Lee Jackson placed the suspected methamphetamine in his mouth, chewed it up, and swallowed it.

He also struggled with officers as they were trying to detain him and the meth was not able to be recovered.

Jackson is charged with possession of a Schedule I controlled substance, obstruction of officers, and tampering with evidence.

Man facing drug charges

A traffic stop on Veterans Memorial Highway ends with the arrest of a 33-year-old West Rome man on drug charges.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Juan Carlos Rivera had a quantity of methamphetamine, psilocybin mushrooms, less than an ounce of marijuana, and a glass smoking device.

He is charged with possession of meth, possession of a Schedule I controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, possession of drug-related objects, and a window tint violation.

Man accused of pushing police officer

A Rome man is facing a felony obstruction charge after allegedly pushing a police officer.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

25-year-old Tryance Jamar Diamond also resisted and ran as officers were trying to place him under arrest. Diamond is also charged with misdemeanor obstruction and DUI.
