The investigation into a fatal crash that occurred on January 27 on Highway 27 South at Walker Mountain Road continues.

According to Rome Police:

Video evidence was discovered that clearly depicts the crash scene in its entirety.

This video evidence shows a GMC Yukon, driven by 37-year-old George W. Fowler of Rome legally entering the intersection in preparation for a left turn.

As a Dodge Ram, driven by 21-year-old William D. Frier of Centre, Alabama, approached the intersection, the traffic signal turned red.

The Ram struck the Yukon as it was completing its left turn.

The crash claimed the life of 59-year-old Denise Howell of Rome.

Fowler and two other passengers in the Yukon, 59-year-old Joe Howell and 61-year-old Jim Howell were transported to the hospital.

The driver of the Ram was not injured.
