(Via WZQZ radio) A Lindale woman turned herself in at the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office over the weekend after being charged with vehicular homicide by the Georgia State Patrol.

26-year-old Rebekah Ellen McEleheny was charged in connection with an accident that claimed the life of Jerry Wayne Browning of Bowden on August 6th of this year near the intersection of Marble Springs Road and Highway 27.

On Monday, the Georgia State Patrol stated that warrants had been issued through Chattooga County Magistrate Court for McEleheny on the charge of homicide by vehicle in the second degree, failure to yield while turning left, and failure to stop at a stop sign.

Troopers say that McElheney was coming off Marble Springs Road in a 2017 Toyota RAV4 when she pulled into the path of a 2001 Chevrolet S10 truck being driven by Browning.

The accident was investigated by the Georgia State Patrol Post in Rome and the Georgia State Patrol Troop A Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team.
