August 18th update:

Authorities have identified a man who was killed in a two-vehicle wreck in Cave Spring Thursday as 21-year-old Gabriel Aguilar-Henandez of Alabama.

According to Deputy Floyd County Coroner John Hamilton, Aguilar-Henandez was pronounced dead at the scene at around 5 p.m.

Thursday afternoon 911 dispatch received reports of a head-on collision involving a pickup truck and a semi-truck on Highway 411 South in the area near Chalwood Lane and Jeremy Todd Road (Cave Spring).

Floyd County Police established a roadblock at the Sunoco gas station and the La Cabana restaurant intersection closing both road lanes to traffic for a few hours.

The Floyd County Coroner was called to the scene and Georgia State Patrol troopers advised WRGA that the driver of the pickup truck (a red Ford Ranger) had passed away as a result of the accident.
