The Floyd County Commission will hold a public hearing regarding the proposed millage rates for county maintenance and operations, fire, and solid waste when they meet Tuesday.

The tentative millage rate of 9.414 mills is an increase of .843 mills. 

The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $250,000 is approximately $104 and the proposed tax increase for non-homestead property with a fair market value of $175,000 is approximately $73.

The meeting begins at 6 p.m. in the community room of the county administration building on Fourth Avenue.

During the caucus, which starts at 4:30 p.m. in the caucus room, commissioners will get an update regarding a proposed new election precinct map.

Under the proposed map, several precincts would merge making 19 precincts instead of 25.
