Woman accused of stealing $800 from elderly victim’s bank account

A 54-year-old Rome woman has been arrested on a felony warrant charging her with exploitation of the elderly.

According to the warrant:

Glenda Michelle Dixon got access to an 80-year-old woman’s bank account and stole $800 from it.

The incident occurred between June 2 and June 5, according to the warrant.

DEA test results lead to drug arrest

A Rome man has been jailed on drug charges following test results from the Drug Enforcement Administration crime lab on a substance found in his vehicle in August of last year.

According to the arrest warrant:

21-year-old Nakyaus Cortez Waddell was found with a set of digital scales with a white, powdery substance on them during a traffic stop on Second Avenue at Martha Berry Boulevard.

The scales were sent off for testing, and on Thursday the results came back showing that the substance was methamphetamine.

Man found with fentanyl on Maple Avenue

A 19-year-old Rome man is facing drug charges following his arrest Thursday.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

A search of Judakiss Jailek Waddell’s vehicle on Maple Avenue turned up a baggie containing suspected fentanyl.

Waddell is charged with possession of a Schedule I controlled substance.

He is also facing charges of possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute, conspiracy to commit a felony, and use of a communications device to commit a crime involving drugs.

Adairsville woman jailed for meth possession

A woman stopped by police on the connector at Highway 53 for having an active warrant was also charged with possession of methamphetamine Thursday.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

36-year-old Kimberly Ranee Merrell of Adairsville had a bag containing suspected meth in the center console of her vehicle.

Merrell is also being held on a felony warrant for a probation violation.
