19-year old arrested following wreck on Tuesday

A 19-year-old from Rome is facing multiple charges following a wreck at the intersection of Highway 140 and Highway 53 Tuesday.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Braydon Jace Redden was under the influence of alcohol when he ran the red light at a high rate of speed.

He then hit another vehicle and attempted to flee on foot.

An off-duty officer was punched in the face as he tried to stop Redden.

Once taken into custody, Redden continued to fight and struck three more officers, damaging a body camera.

Once in the patrol vehicle, Redden kicked out the passenger side window.

He is charged with felony counts of interference with government property and obstruction of officers, as well as misdemeanor counts of underage consumption of alcohol, DUI, too fast for conditions, failure to obey a traffic control device and hit and run.

Cave Spring man charged with criminal damage to property, child cruelty

A Cave Spring man is accused of hitting two people with a door after he tore it off the hinges and door frame Tuesday.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

A child who was struck by the door was then forcibly pulled into the bedroom by 53-year-old Rory Demarcus Morgan.

As Morgan continued to move the door, it then struck a woman in the home, who was filming.

Morgan is charged with two counts of 3rd-degree cruelty to children, and single counts of simple battery and criminal damage to property.

The incident occurred at a residence on Fosters Mill Road, according to the report.

Man charged with felony obstruction, disorderly conduct

A 35-year-old Rome man has been arrested in connection with a June 11 incident at his residence on East 12th Street.

According to the arrest warrants:

William Travis Empie violently resisted officers, making physical contact of an ‘insulting’ nature against one of them.

Empie is also accused of disturbing the peace by using abusive words in the presence of neighbors.

He is charged with felony obstruction of officers, simple battery, and disorderly conduct.

Calhoun woman charged with meth possession

A Calhoun woman has been jailed on drug charges dating back nearly two years.

According to the arrest warrant for 22-year-old Alyssa Jade Early:

A bag of suspected methamphetamine was found during a vehicle search on Oct. 26, 2021, at the intersection of Dugger Drive and Burr Drive in the Armuchee area.

Floyd County Jail records state that Early was also in possession of a glass pipe, commonly used for smoking meth.

She is charged with possession of meth and possession of drug-related objects.
