Man arrested for aggravated assault

A Rome man was arrested on a felony aggravated assault charge after he allegedly strangled a woman at a home on Oakland Avenue Monday. 

According to Floyd County Jail records: 

Abraham Francisco also threw the victim’s cell phone, damaging it. 

The incident occurred in front of a child. 

Francisco is additionally charged with simple battery, criminal damage to property, and 3rd-degree cruelty to children.  

Charges filed in February wreck

A 21-year-old Cedartown man is facing charges in connection with a wreck that occurred back on February 3 on Riverbend Drive in Rome. 

According to the arrest warrants and Floyd County Jail records: 

Justin Clayton Cameron was driving under the influence when he cause the crash that left a passenger with a broken femur which required surgery. 

Cameron is charged with a felony count of serious injury by vehicle and misdemeanor counts of DUI, open container, failure to maintain a lane, too fast for conditions, and underage possession of alcohol.
