Woman charged with aggravated assault

A Rome woman was arrested early Monday on a felony count of aggravated assault following an incident on North Blanch Avenue.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

36-year-old Rebekah Pecolia Bohanon used her vehicle as an offensive weapon when she suddenly accelerated toward the victim.

Woman facing drug charges

A 33-year-old Rome woman is facing multiple charges following her arrest over the weekend.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Amanda Dawn Fricks was found with suspected methamphetamine and a glass smoking device at Maple Avenue at Mahan Street.

She then gave officers a false name, resisted arrest, and ran from the police.

During a follow-up investigation, a probable cause search warrant was executed at 106 Williamson Street where methamphetamine, a glass pipe, and a digital scale were found along with paperwork with Fricks’ name on it.

She is charged with two counts each of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug-related objects, and obstruction of officers, plus a single count of giving a false name or date or birth to law enforcement.

Report: Woman stole medication from elderly victim’s porch

A Rome woman has been arrested on a felony warrant charging her with exploitation or intimidation of the elderly.

According to the warrant:

64-year-old Deborah Gay Walk stole medication from the porch of the 82-year-old victim and also forged and deposited a check from the victim’s account into her account.

The check was for $676, according to the warrant.

Walk is additionally charged with a misdemeanor count of 4th-degree forgery.

Man charged with felony obstruction

A 51-year-old Rome man is facing a felony count of obstruction of officers following an incident over the weekend at a convenience store.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Sean Scott Salmon swung a metal water bottle at officers while stating he was not going to jail.

Police were called to the store at 507 Turner McCall Boulevard because Salmon had previously been banned from the property.

Once at the jail, Salmon was found with suspected methamphetamine.

He is additionally charged with criminal trespass, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drugs by an inmate.

Man accused of signing false name to fingerprint card at jail

A 37-year-old Rome man is accused of signing a false name to a fingerprint card at the Floyd County Jail.

According to jail records:

David Isaias Lopez was stopped by police on Burnett Ferry Road at Leafmore for driving an unregistered vehicle and for driving without a license.

He then gave police a false name, later signing that same name to the fingerprint card.

His true identity was later discovered.

Lopez is charged with a felony count of false statements and writings, as well as a misdemeanor count of giving a false name or date of birth to law enforcement.

Report: Man spit on police officer

A Silver Creek man was arrested early Sunday following an incident on Burnett Ferry Road.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

40-year-old Deon Lamon Watkins spit in a police officer’s face.

He also tried to pull away from officers and refused commands to stop running.

Watkins was also arrested on a warrant charging him with a misdemeanor count of battery.

He is accused of hitting a woman in the face with his hands multiple times on March 22 at a location on Shorter Avenue.

Man accused of having drugs at the jail

A man stopped for speeding on Highway 411 at Biddy Road, and initially arrested for driving without a license, was hit with more charges once at the Floyd County Jail.

According to jail records:

30-year-old Ismael Ramos Rosales of Rome was found with a pipe containing suspected methamphetamine residue in the booking area.

He is charged with possession of meth, possession of drug-related objects, and crossing the guard line at the jail with drugs.

Alabama man arrested on drug charges

A man from Mumford, Alabama was booked into the Floyd County Jail over the weekend following his arrest on Ridgeview Drive at Old Rockmart Road.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

44-year-old Shannon James Willetts had a small baggie containing suspected methamphetamine and a glass pipe.

He is charged with possession of a Schedule I controlled substance.

Adairsville woman charged with meth possession

A 52-year-old Adairsville woman was booked into the Floyd County Jail over the weekend on a felony count of possession of a Schedule I controlled substance.

According to jail records:

Laura Ann Kasonovitch was initially charged with driving with a suspended license and no insurance during a traffic stop on Parrish Drive in Rome.

She was then found with a crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine.
