Man charged with drug trafficking

The execution of a search warrant at a home on Decatur Street ended with the arrest of a Rome man on drug trafficking charges late last week.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

30-year-old Titus Dewayne Daniel Jr. was found with multiple bags of methamphetamine and cocaine, along with several fentanyl pills, more than 28 grams of marijuana, digital scales, and packaging materials.

Once at the jail, suspected cocaine was found in Daniel’s gym shorts.

In addition to trafficking, Daniel is also charged with possession of methamphetamine, cocaine, marijuana, and a controlled substance; possession of methamphetamine, cocaine, marijuana, and a controlled substance with the intent to distribute; two counts of possession of drugs by an inmate; and contempt of superior court.

Seat belt violation leads to drug arrest

A traffic stop for a seat belt violation on Dugger Drive recently ended with the arrest of a 32-year-old Rome man on drug charges.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Cody Shawn Winters had suspected methamphetamine and marijuana.

He is charged with possession of both meth and marijuana and with not wearing a seat belt.

Inmates accused of damaging jail property

Two inmates at the Floyd County Jail are facing charges of criminal damage to property.

According to jail records:

35-year-old Daniel Robert Ellis and 27-year-old Dakota Joseph Godfrey damaged a light fixture in the shower of the C-Block at the jail last Friday.

Report: Man used storage unit without paying

A 41-year-old Rome man has been jailed on a felony warrant charging him with theft of services.

According to the warrant:

Joe Manuel Carrasco used a storage unit at Armuchee Self Storage on Martha Berry Highway without paying for it and depriving the business of more than $1,800.

Carrasco is also charged with criminal trespass.
