Woman charged with aggravated animal cruelty
A 36-year-old Rome woman was jailed Tuesday on a felony warrant charging her with aggravated cruelty to animals.
According to the warrant:
Jennifer Dawn Heath failed to get immediate veterinary care for her dog which suffered from a fracture of the right femur.
The leg was rendered useless and disfigured from the injury, requiring amputation.
Inmate accused of putting deputy in a headlock
An inmate at the Floyd County Jail is facing charges of obstruction, battery, and unlawful acts of violence in a penal institution following an incident on Tuesday.
According to jail records:
31-year-old Marcus Tyrell Creamer resisted two jail officers.
He also struck one of the officers in the face and then put her in a headlock.
