A Rome man was jailed early Tuesday following a shooting on Wadsworth Street near Nelm Street.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

26-year-old Brandon Timothy Stubbs Jr. shot at another man just after midnight with an AR-15.

Stubbs said he shot because he thought he saw a weapon on the victim from about 30 feet away on the street.

The victim sustained a serious bodily injury requiring hospitalization.

Stubbs is charged with a felony count of aggravated assault.
