Report: Man sold items stolen from a recycling center to the same center

A Plainville man is accused of stealing from a recycling center on New Calhoun Highway and then selling the stolen property back to the center.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

The victim paid out $9,615 to 24-year-old Jonathan Reyes during multiple transactions, beginning in April.

The recycling center was not able to provide a specific value for the items that were stolen, but it was for more than $1,500.

Reyes is charged with 14 counts of theft by taking and 14 counts of theft by deception.

More charges for Brownlow

Charges have been filed in connection with the theft of a boat trailer from a location on Big Texas Valley Road.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

35-year-old Paden Elliott Brownlow took the boat trailer valued at $1,500.

The trailer was recovered from Brownlow’s Huffaker Road property on June 20.

That’s when Brownlow was arrested on multiple other charges after officers found 30 firearms, 11 of which had been stolen, along with 96.6 grams of suspected methamphetamine.

Brownlow is now charged with felony theft by taking in addition to the previous other charges.
