A race car driver was arrested at Rome Speedway after he allegedly drove a race car recklessly toward a group of people Saturday evening.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

30-year-old Cass Lee Fowler of Acworth is charged with aggravated assault and reckless conduct in connection with the incident.

According to the report, one person was struck by Fowler’s car.

The victim is identified in the report as Michael Courtney of Tennessee.

Courtney was another competitor that was on the entry list for the races.

Courtney did not have to go to the hospital.

There were no serious injuries reported.
