A Rome man is in jail without bond following a shooting on Tyler Street at Garden Lakes Boulevard just before midnight Sunday evening.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

30-year-old Mark Paul Dawson Sr. shot a man in his lower extremities, resulting in the victim requiring surgery.

Dawson was also found in possession of suspected methamphetamine and a glass smoking device.

He is charged with aggravated assault, pointing or aiming a firearm at another, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, possession of meth, and possession of drug-related objects.

A Rome woman was arrested following a shooting incident at her Coosawattee Avenue home over the weekend.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

50-year-old Cindy Kay Denman shot a 59-year-old man in the arm.

Denman is charged with aggravated assault in connection with the incident that occurred Saturday at around 7:30 p.m.
