Paulding County teen charged with sexual battery against a minor in Floyd County
A teen from Dallas, Georgia has been arrested on a felony warrant charging him with sexual battery against a child under the age of 16.
According to the warrant on file at the Floyd County Jail:
18-year-old Charles Ethan Anderton touched the breast of a female under the age of 16.
The incident occurred between June 1 and August 1 of last year at a location in Cave Spring, according to the warrant.
Alabama woman arrested on a fugitive charge
A 25-year-old woman from Heflin, Alabama, arrested Thursday on Hicks Drive for urban camping and improper use of public areas, is also charged with being a fugitive from justice.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Jillian Shyanne Bates was wanted in Cleburne County, Alabama for a probation violation for the offense of 2nd-degree kidnapping.
Additional burglary charge filed against Rome man
A Rome man arrested earlier this week for burglarizing a home on Lewis Drive has now been charged in connection with a break-in on Martha Berry Highway.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
38-year-old Derick Wayne Mobbs kicked in the door of the residence and stole multiple drills, chargers, and batteries valued at a combined $1,265.
The burglary occurred on May 28, according to the report.
Mobbs was initially arrested on May 30 after allegedly entering the Lewis Drive residence on April 13 and making contact with the victim.
The report states that Mobbs was on bond for an aggravated assault charge.
As part of that bond, Mobbs was ordered by a judge to have no direct or indirect contact with the victim, resulting in an additional charge of aggravated stalking.
Two charged with theft by receiving s stolen motor vehicle
Two Rome residents were jailed Thursday on charges of theft by receiving a stolen motor vehicle.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
60-year-old Lula Ann Whittenberry and 42-year-old Lakisha Montera Watkins were found in possession of a 2015 Toyota Camry that had been reported stolen at a location on Martha Berry Highway at Old School Road.
Alabama man charged with shoplifting, meth possession
A Centre, Alabama man was booked into the Floyd County Jail Thursday on charges of felony theft by shoplifting and possession of methamphetamine.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
47-year-old Paul Bryan Lollar placed several items in a plastic tote at Dunham’s Sporting Goods in Mount Berry Mall and then left the store.
He was then found in possession of an undisclosed amount of meth.
Orlando man jailed in Floyd County for being a party to a crime
A 19-year-old Orlando, Florida man has been arrested on a felony warrant charging him with being a party to a crime.
According to the warrant:
Nigel Ogilvie Blair aided in the commission of a crime by riding to various locations as fraudulent debit card transactions were being committed.
The specific incident occurred on January 1 at Tractor Supply on Highway 411 in Rome.
Blair is also charged with financial transaction card fraud.
Bicyclist facing drug charges
A traffic stop on a bicycle on South First Street at Grove Avenue in Lindale Thursday ended with the arrest of a 26-year-old Silver Creek man on drug charges.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Nicholas Phillip Leonard was riding his bike at night with no front or rear lights or deflectors.
During the traffic stop, Leonard disposed of a pen containing suspected marijuana, which was located in the grass near where he was standing.
Police also found a vape pen labeled “Jungle Boys” as they were searching Leonard. It field tested for THC.
Leonard also had liquid methadone that was not prescribed to him, as well as suspected methamphetamine, and a glass smoking device.
He is charged with possession of a Schedule I controlled substance, possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, possession of marijuana, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug-related objects, tampering with evidence, and a violation of equipment requirements or regulations for bicycles.
