Texas man returned to Floyd County to face auto theft charge

A 38-year-old man from Arlington, Texas was booked into the Floyd County Jail late last week on a felony warrant charging him with theft by taking a motor vehicle.

According to the warrant:

Carlos Aguilar Alvarez to a Ford F-250 from a residence in Silver Creek back in October under the pretense of performing maintenance on it and then never returning the vehicle.

Alvarez was the one who sold the vehicle, valued at $39,000, to the victim.

Alvarez’s business has since closed down.

Report: Silver Creek man possessed blade used to puncture tire

A Silver Creek man has been arrested on charges of possession of tools for the commission of a crime, and criminal trespass.

According to the arrest warrant:

On April 24, 37-year-old Terry Lane Ferguson Jr. was in possession of a bladed device that was used with the intent to puncture the sidewall of a tire on the victim’s only car.

Ferguson is also charged with simple assault and a probation violation.

Man accused of entering vehicle on Riverbend Drive

A homeless man is accused of entering a vehicle on Riverbend Drive on Thursday of last week.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

59-year-old Manuel Lewis Finley went through the glove compartment of the 2001 Nissan Altima.

He is charged with entering an automobile with the intent to commit a theft.

Cartersville man charged with stealing SUV in Rome

A Cartersville man has been arrested in the theft of an SUV from a location in Rome that occurred in June of 2021.

According to the arrest warrant:

25-year-old John Patrick Suggs took a 2009 Nissan Rogue from a residence on Pressley Street.

Suggs is charged with theft by taking a motor vehicle and fugitive from justice.
