Man charged in burglary at Alabama Highway store

A man has been charged in connection with the burglary of a convenience store in Coosa that occurred on May 2.

According to the arrest warrant:

29-year-old Brian Scott Mazzo of Rome entered Circle K at 4818 Alabama Highway and took between $5,000 and $6,000 from the cash register.

Mazzo is also wanted on an active warrant in Alabama.

He is charged with 2nd-degree burglary, fugitive from justice, and a probation violation.

Report: Man found with marijuana at the jail

A 53-year-old Rome man is facing a felony count of crossing the guard line at the Floyd County Jail with drugs.

According to jail records:

Danny Junior Strickland was found with suspected marijuana.

He is also charged with a misdemeanor count of possession of less than an ounce of marijuana and two counts of failure to appear in court.

Woman arrested for meth possession during traffic stop

A traffic stop on Park Avenue at Landers Drive in Lindale ended with the arrest of a 43-year-old homeless woman for possession of methamphetamine.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Police pulled over the vehicle because the driver, Christie Robertson Grafton was seen holding her cell phone.

She was then found with a crystal-like substance that she admitted was meth.

Grafton is also charged with driving without her license in possession and a violation of Georgia’s hands-free law.
