Man charged with animal cruelty

A 66-year-old Rome man was jailed Monday on seven misdemeanor counts of cruelty to animals and one felony count of aggravated cruelty to animals.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Joseph Eugene Morrison Jr. allowed seven kittens to live in an extreme hoard and unsanitary conditions.

A dead cat was also located in the residence on Sanders Avenue.

Report: Man threatened to blow up vehicle with child inside

A Rome man was arrested Monday after allegedly making threats at a location on East 13th Street.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

27-year-old Naderricus Sha’Quan Reed pushed a woman, causing scratches and bleeding to her arm.

He then threatened to kill the victim and blow up her car with a child inside.

Reed is charged with felony terroristic threats and acts, and a misdemeanor count of simple battery.

Man accused of fleeing from police on a bicycle

A Rome man is accused of fleeing from police on a bicycle on Highland Boulevard Monday.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

25-year-old Zachary Colt Edwards Sr. also resisted arrest and was found in possession of drug-related objects and methamphetamine, which he discarded as he was running from police.

Edwards is charged with possession of meth, possession of drug-related objects, abandonment of dangerous drugs, and two counts of misdemeanor obstruction of officers.
