Woman charged with aggravated assault, battery

An arrest has been made in the assault of a 32-year-old woman on Canterbury Place on Tuesday.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

24-year-old Madeleine Margaret Sharpe of Rome punched the victim in the face and bit her on the arms and legs.

Sharpe also pointed a gun at the victim and threatened to kill her.

The victim sustained visible bruises and a bloody nose.

Sharpe is charged with aggravated assault and battery.

Report: Man ran during traffic stop

A 34-year-old Rome man was arrested Tuesday after allegedly running from a traffic stop on the Armuchee Connector at Three Mile Road.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

The Georgia State Patrol stopped a vehicle driven by Greggory Crawford Jr. for going 70 in a 45 mph zone.

Crawford then fled on foot.

A parameter was set up and Crawford was located near Mt. Berry Mall.

A green bag containing suspected ecstasy and marijuana was found in the woods.

Crawford is charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, speeding, obstruction of law enforcement, failure to maintain a lane, driving on the wrong side of the road, and failure to yield for emergency vehicles.

Man charged with being a felon with a firearm

A Rome man was jailed Tuesday following the execution of a search warrant at his Moran Lake Road home.

According to the arrest warrants:

A blue, rounded pill, believed to be a controlled substance, and a firearm were found in 29-year-old Jamie Michael Cooper’s bedroom.

Cooper is charged with possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Man accused of entering auto in West Rome

A 34-year-old Rome man is accused of stealing items from a vehicle on Coosawattee Avenue Tuesday.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Kunal Ravindra Wadekar took a Porsche drawstring bag, a flashlight, and assorted mail from the vehicle.

He is charged with a felony count of entering an automobile.

August man charged with forgery

An Augusta man was booked into the Floyd County Jail Tuesday on a felony warrant charging him with 3rd-degree forgery.

According to the warrant:

32-year-old Terrance Chaz Foy wrote a check for more than $9,000 to the service department of a car dealership on New Calhoun Highway on Jan. 14, 2022.

It was later found out, the account had been closed and Foy did not have the authority to write the check.
