Man charged with fleeing, possession of a stolen vehicle

A 42-year-old Cedartown man was booked into the Floyd County Jail Monday on multiple charges including theft by receiving a stolen motor vehicle and fleeing or attempting to elude.

According to jail records:

Douglas Frederick Bray failed to stop for police who were trying to pull him over in the Lindale area.

Bray was driving a vehicle that had been reported stolen.

The license plate on the vehicle had also been removed.

Once at the jail, Bray was found with suspected methamphetamine and 30 pills hidden under his pants. 

Bray was additionally charged with removing or falsifying a vehicle identification number, driving with a suspended or revoked license, concealing the identity of a vehicle, failure to display a license plate, possession of meth, possession of a controlled substance, possession of dangerous drugs, and failure to stop for emergency vehicles.

Man accused of stealing water service

A 30-year-old Rome man has been arrested on a felony count of theft of services.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Hunter Channing Hamilton was getting services from the Rome Water Department at his Crane Street home without paying for them.
