The Alto Park and Etowah Park tennis courts will be getting some much-needed resurfacing in May.

The resurfacing will force the courts to be closed for a period of time.

The Alto Park courts are scheduled to be closed starting on Tuesday, May 2.

The Etowah Park tennis courts are scheduled to be closed starting on Monday, May 15. Weather and construction issues could change these dates.

Once the courts are completed and ready for play, they will reopen to the public.

Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation Director Todd Wofford stated, “We are happy to be able to resurface these courts for the tennis and pickleball playing public of Rome and Floyd County,”

Wofford also stated that if the weather cooperates it will allow the courts to reopen as soon as possible.
