A 74-year-old Rome man is charged with murder following a deadly shooting in West Rome.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Will Henry Ford Sr. shot a woman with a 12-gauge shotgun just before 7 a.m. Friday at his residence on Springdale Drive.

60-year-old Harriet Ann Turner of Rome died as a result of a single gunshot wound to her torso.

Ford is being held without bond in the jail’s medical wing.

He is charged with murder, aggravated assault, aggravated battery, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
