There are a number of controlled burns happening today in the Rome and Floyd County area.

According to the Georgia Forestry Commission:

Berry College is conducting a controlled burn of around 200 acres near the House of Dreams. It is set to begin at around 11 a.m. and will go until 5 or 6 p.m. You will see smoke in the area from the burns.

Also, there will be a couple of controlled burns, about 160 acres total, out in the Norton Road and Highway 411 area. Those burns will be going on until around 4 p.m.
