Man accused of fleeing from police

A Rome man is facing charges after he allegedly fled from Floyd County Police early Friday.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

28-year-old Miguel Angel Bogarin was clocked going 65 in a 45-mile-per-hour zone on Alabama Highway at Beech Creek and failed to stop for officers when they tried to pull him over.

He then got out of the vehicle and ran into his house to avoid arrest.

Bogarin is charged with fleeing or attempting to elude, misdemeanor obstruction, speeding, and DUI.

Report: Man stole financial transaction card, gave false name to police

A homeless man has been arrested on charges of financial transaction card theft and false statements and writings.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

22-year-old Joshua Emmanuel Nash took someone else’s credit or debit card and provided a false name to law enforcement twice.

He then signed a false name to the fingerprint card at the jail.

Nash is also charged with a misdemeanor count of giving a false name or date of birth to law enforcement.
