21 years after the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, Rome and Floyd County residents and first responders are keeping their promise to never forget.
On Friday, the annual 9/11 Remembrance Service was held at the Rome-Floyd County Firefighters Memorial downtown.
Sherry Peace, the widow of Bill Peace who was widely known around the Rome/Floyd County area for his countless years of dedicated service in various roles as a first responder, presented a memorial wreath.
She was escorted by E911 Director Sommer Davis Robinson and Gwinnett County Fire & Emergency Services Driver Engineer Nick Donegan.
