Two Cedartown residents were arrested on drug trafficking charges Monday during a traffic stop on Craven Street in Cave Spring.
According to Floyd County Jail records, police stopped a vehicle driven by 54-year-old Shirley Ayers Simpson for failure to maintain a lane.
During a consent search of the vehicle, the officer found a metal container, and inside were two bags filled with a large amount of a crystal-like substance.
The suspected methamphetamine weighed more than 28 grams.
Simpson and 59-year-old Ronald Eugene Kelley were charged with trafficking meth and possession with the intent to distribute.
