ROME POLICE DEPARTMENT

Rome Police responded to a shooting Thursday morning at Sam’s Food Mart at 1944 Shorter Avenue in West Rome.

The call came in at around 7 a.m.

Officers arrived and found a woman with what appeared to be two gunshot wounds.

She was transported by ambulance to the hospital and is expected to recover.

The suspects fled the scene and the Rome Police Criminal Investigation Division is still currently investigating.
