City school board discusses superintendent search, new Rome High School principal

ROME CITY SCHOOLS

The Rome City School Board met Monday to discuss filling the superintendent and Rome High principal jobs.

The candidates for superintendent were discussed during an executive session.

The board also determined they will choose a new principal of Rome High School after naming a permanent superintendent.

The Board voted and approved the second reading of policies regarding unstructured break time, student attendance, complaints about instructional materials, divisive concepts complaint resolution process, materials harmful to minors complaint resolution process, and parents’ bill of rights.

Board members also voted to approve their application for the Georgia School Board Association’s Distinguished School Board Award. Last won in 2020, RCS has been the recipient of this award where winners are announced during the GSBA Winter Conference.
