[VIDEO] Multiple Vehicle Accident on Calhoun Hwy NE blocks Afternoon Traffic

On Tuesday afternoon the Floyd County Police Department, Rome-Floyd Fire Department, Georgia State Patrol, and AdventHealth EMS responded to Calhoun Highway NE near the “Skater Zone” area after 9-11 Dispatch reported that a multiple-vehicle accident had occurred.

When first responders arrived at the wreck scene, they found that three vehicles were mainly involved. 

Traffic flow on both sides of Calhoun Highway NE was closed by the Floyd County Police to investigate the crash.  

One of the vehicles, a silver Honda Civic, sustained what appears to be head-on collision damage. According to 9-11 dispatch, the driver of the Civic had to be extricated from the vehicle and was transported by EMS to be treated for injuries.

A black Jeep Wrangler had been flipped on its side in the crash. According to 9-11 Dispatch, the driver of the Jeep was initially unresponsive when first responders first arrived. The driver became responsive and was extricated from the accident with a head laceration and possibly other injuries.  

A blue Ford Mustang was also involved in the accident and had some damage on the back of the vehicle.
