A 48-year old Rome man was jailed Tuesday on multiple counts of aggravated animal cruelty, which are felonies.

According to Floyd County Jail records, Nicky Jerome Waits caused the death of nine dogs by locking them inside a home without providing them with food or water.

The dog’s remains appeared to be extremely malnourished, according to the report.
