Commission approves hiring a new elections supervisors

The Floyd County Commission has voted to follow the recommendation of the board of elections to hire James Stephens as the new elections supervisor.

Stephens has been the city manager in Euharlee for the past 6 and-a-half years.

He has over eight years of experience in local government management, three years of government auditing experience, and eight years of state government experience.

He was also a staff member of the Georgia Department of Community Affairs and was a private activity bond Administrator for the State of Georgia.

As elections supervisor, Stephens will serve as staff support for the elections board, attend board meetings, assist the board in fulfilling its duties of voter registration and the conduct of elections and provide daily supervision of other county employees who assist the board.
