The suspect vehicle involved in the 03/09/2022 fatal accident and the driver have been located. Rome Police officers are continuing the investigation.

The following is a public service announcement from the Rome Police Department:

“The Rome Police Department Selective Enforcement Unit is seeking information in reference to a fatal hit and run traffic crash that occurred on March 9, 2022.

At approximately 7:49 pm on Redmond Circle near Westside Industrial Blvd, a cyclist was traveling southbound when an unknown white pick-up truck approached from the rear and struck the cyclist.

After the crash, the suspect vehicle fled the scene. We are seeking assistance from the public in the identification of the vehicle and or driver.

The vehicle is expected to have front-end and/or undercarriage damage. The vehicle may also have damage to the right front tire from impacting a curb in their efforts to flee the scene.

The picture is of low quality and officers are attempting to locate additional video of the vehicle.
