Calhoun man sought in fatal hit and run

The Georgia State Patrol is looking for a Calhoun man in reference to a deadly hit-and-run involving a bicyclist in the Plainville area last month.

52-year-old Michael Shane Robbins of Plainville was airlifted to Erlanger with serious injuries on February 5 after his bicycle was struck by what was believed to be a dump truck hauling short logs on Highway 53 at Brownlee Mountain Road.

Robbins died on February 8 from his injuries.

Authorities are now seeking information on the whereabouts of Jeffery Lance Hughes.
