A Silver Creek woman is accused of stealing funds from the Pepperell Elementary School PTO.

According to the arrest warrant, 49-year old Phyllis C. Arrington wrote multiple checks to herself in excess of $6,000 from the parent-teacher organization’s bank account.

Arrington was the treasurer of the organization and fiduciary of the account.

She reportedly signed the checks using the name of a retired treasurer, who denied any knowledge of the checks.

Arrington then deposited the checks into her personal bank account over the course of several years.

She is charged with felony theft by taking.
