COVID-19 daily status report for January 19

242 Floyd County residents have tested positive for COVID-19, according to the Wednesday status report from the Georgia Department of Public Health.

The new cases reported from Tuesday to Wednesday bring the total to 20.465 since the start of the pandemic.

Our two-week total is now at 2,764.

Bartow County is now at a total of 19,603 total cases, up by 134 from Tuesday’s report.

Gordon County had 95 new cases for a total of 10,571.

There was also one confirmed death in Gordon County reported Wednesday.

Chattooga County had 49 new positive tests and one death while Polk County had 83 additional cases and no deaths Wednesday.

The COVID-19 Daily Status Report reflected more than 27,000 newly reported cases (PCR positive and antigen-positive combined).

Take into account this number includes a backlog of cases that were not previously reported by several large laboratories.

Those cases date back 7-10 days.
