More snow likely this afternoon

January 16, 2022–1:14 p.m.

STAFF REPORTS

Although there has been a little snow spotted in our area, Rome and Floyd County has seen mostly rain.

However, more snow is likely during the afternoon hour and into the evening.

The National Weather Service says 1 to 2 inches is possible before the precipitation moves out this evening.

Temperatures are expected to remain above freezing until after the snow moves out.

However, we are expected to fall into the upper 20’s by morning so there could be issues with refreezing overnight.

According to Georgia Power, a tree has caused a power outage in the area of Friday Road.

There is also a power outage on Highway 100 in the area of the Floyd County Wildlife Club.
