Rome City Schools Press Release –

4:10 PM Update:

The earlier stated lockdown has been lifted for RHS, RMS, PLC, and Main. All activities will proceed as scheduled.

Previously:

Rome City Schools received notice that an inmate has escaped the Floyd County Jail.

As a precaution, Rome High School, Rome Middle School, Phoenix Learning Center, and Main Elementary are on lockdown until more information becomes available via local law enforcement officials.

Additional updates will be made available through social media pages and direct messaging services.

At this time, Rome City Schools will maintain a regular school schedule and dismissal times.
