Norfolk Southern will be working on several railroad crossings in Floyd County in the coming weeks.
They will be removing old rotted ties, replacing them with new ties, and surfacing through the crossings.
This is not a County project.
The railroad will perform the work, and post appropriate notices before work is done.
Floyd County E-911 will also be notified in advance of each individual closing.
Each crossing should take 1-2 days of work. See the tentative schedule listed below.

Meanwhile, as we first shared yesterday, Norfolk Southern has postponed the date that they will begin servicing tracks in the City of Rome.
The timeframe has changed to the week of January 17.
The following roads will be closed while they make repairs:
Darlington Dr. (Between Cedar Ave and Cave Spring Rd SW)
12th St. (Between Cedar Ave and Cave Spring Rd SW)
Maple St. (Between E 6th st and E 8th St SW)
Second Ave. ( GA101) (Between E 6th St. and E 8th St. SW)
Callahan St (Between Reservation St and HWY 53)
The roads will be closed for 2-3 days while servicing the tracks.
