EXCHANGE CLUB OF ROME

After almost doubling the number of families served this year over last year through the Toys for Tots campaign, Exchange Club volunteers wasted no time in hitting the deeply discounted toy sales to begin to amass the stockpile for 2022.

The first stop was Belk’s and Santa’s elves swooped up 250 STEM educational-type toys valued at $19,000 for only $5,000. The funds that made this purchase and others possible were donated by local businesses and individuals.

The workers also shopped Kroger for $4.700 worth of toys for next year’s campaign for only $1,700…another terrific buy.

Contributions are needed by the campaign to keep the super shoppers assembling new toys.

Donations can be sent to Toys For Tots, c/o Linda Hatcher, 40 Padgett Road, Cedartown, GA 30125.

In 2020, the Toys For Tots program was able to help 800 families, but this year the number swelled to 1500 families.
