Floyd County Commission meets Tuesday

The Floyd County Commission is expected to make appointments to the restructured board of elections when they meet Tuesday night.

The board has gone from 3 to 5 members.

The local Democrat and Republican Parties are each submitting two names to serve while the county commission will appoint the 5th member to serve as chair.

Also Monday, the commission is set to adopt a resolution to clarify the fee schedule for parking violations in parking areas governed by Floyd County.

Resolutions to update the Floyd County Hazard Mitigation Plan, and for the closure of a portion of Marie Drive are also on the agenda.

Commissioners will also consider a contract for consulting services for the development of a ten-year Master Plan for the Rome Floyd Parks & Recreation Department, and the appointment of a county commission chair and vice-chair for 2022.

Second reading and a public hearing on the 2022 budget will also be conducted during the meeting which begins at 6 p.m.

The caucus is at 4.

Both meetings will be held at County Administration Building on East 4th Avenue.
