Red Cross blood supplies at historically low levels

December 7, 2021–10:30 a.m.

AMERICAN RED CROSS

Right now, the American Red Cross blood supply is at historically low levels.

They are at a point where some patients relying on a transfusion may not receive the blood they need.

If more donors don’t come forward to give blood, some patients requiring a transfusion may potentially face delays in care.

To encourage donations, those who give between December 17 and January 2 will receive an exclusive Red Cross long-sleeved T-shirt, while supplies last.

Donors are urged to schedule an appointment now by using the Red Cross Blood Donor App, visiting RedCrossBlood.org, or calling 1-800-RED CROSS.
