Man charged with aggravated assault, hit and run

A Rockmart man was jailed Thanksgiving evening following an argument on Walton Creek Way in Rome.

According to Floyd County Jail records, 55-year old Michael Revis Salter backed his vehicle into the victim’s truck while the passengers were inside and about to exit.

There were children under the age of 10 in the victim’s vehicle at the time of the collision.

Salter reportedly pulled forward and backed into the truck a second time before leaving.

He is charged with aggravated assault, 2nd-degree cruelty to children, criminal damage to property, hit and run, and improper backing.
