A 42-year old man has been found guilty in the murder of a 2-year old child that occurred over three-and-a-half years ago.

On April 13, 2018, Police Officers were dispatched to reports of an unresponsive child at a Dodd Boulevard address. 

2-year old Adrian “Tank” Mitchell had been brutally beaten and later died from multiple internal injuries.

Mitchell and a then 5-year old had been left in the care of Hassan Rashad while the mother went to work.

The mother, Sydney Dean, was also arrested because she delayed seeking medical attention for her child.

She pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and was sentenced to 30-years, eight to serve.

Rashad was found guilty Tuesday on charges of malice murder and cruelty to children.

He will be sentenced on December 2.
