Elections board legislation passes House, now moves to the Senate

Legislation to abolish and then reconstitute the Floyd Board of Elections has passed in the Georgia House by a 150-7 vote..

Chuck Hufstetler is set to carry the bills in the Georgia Senate.

Last month, the board of elections recommended that the board be changed from three members to five.

The idea was endorsed by the Floyd County Commission but it must be approved by the legislature.

To establish a 5 member board as requested, the 1986 law must be abolished with one bill.

Then there must be a second bill to establish the five-member board.
