A Shannon woman has been charged with misdemeanor counts of animal cruelty and two counts of felony aggravated animal cruelty.

According to Floyd County Jail records, 62-year old Angela Ann Addington denied food to a German Shepherd mix, resulting in the dog being severely underweight.

The dog also had worms and suffered from a heart murmur and decreased muscle mass.

The warrant states that these medical issues are easily preventable with proper feeding and appropriate veterinary care.

Addington also had two pigs that were being kept in an enclosure that was too small with no food or water. 26 dachshund/Chihuahua mix dogs were in the residence on 3rd Street, and all were living in extreme filth.

She is the second person charged in this case. 64-year old Larry Wayman Addington was arrested last week
